Gerald Rodney Satterfield Sr.

Gerald Rodney Satterfield, Sr. Easley, South Carolina Gerald Rodney Satterfield, Sr, 81, of Easley, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, February 27, 2023 from a long term illness. Born in Central, SC and later moved to Easley in the early 70s. He was the son of the late Jeanette Satterfield and the late Hovie S. Bryant. Gerald worked at Mohawk for 39 years. After retirement, he was a delivery man at Foothills Automotive for 9yrs. He was a member of Cedar Rock Baptist Church where he served on the Offerings/Tithes Committee. In his teens, he played softball on the Central softball team and was very good at it. He loved anything to do with cars, boats and especially motorcycles. He loved clocks and could fix clock that was broken. He enjoyed playing card games and pool with his family. Before his illness, he would love to entice anyone to game of UNO or Rummy. He was an excellent pool player and taught all his grandchildren how play. About every holiday, he would challenge his grandchildren to a game of pool and rarely could anyone beat him. He loved to play pranks on people especially his children and grandchildren. He was an avid Clemson Fan. Surviving, in addition to his wife, Carol Satterfield of 53 years are his two daughters, Sherry Watson (Michael) of Liberty, Tammy Gregory (Tommy) of Easley, and his son, Rodney (Jeanna) of Pelzer. Seven grandchildren, Cory Gillespie (Kala) of Anderson, Falon Miller (Jim) of Liberty, Candace Strickland of Anderson, Nicole Maxwell of Texas, Chance Johnson (Mia) of Berea, Brandon Gregory of Charlotte, NC, Brie Dunagan (Cory) of Liberty. Seven great grandchildren, Maddison Miller, Tyler Miller, Olivia Strickland, Laytin Maxwell, Alayna Dunagan, Annalise Gillespie, Colton Dunagan. In addition to his parents, Gerald is preceded by his daughter, Deanna Warren; a special Aunt, Mattie Chappell and Uncle, Dude Chappell. The family will host a memorial service at 2:30 PM on Saturday, March 4, 2023 at Cedar Rock Baptist Church, 1667 Cedar Rock Church Rd, Easley, SC 29640. The family would like to give a special thanks to Hospice Chapter of Prisma Health. In leu of flowers, the family ask that donations be made to the Alzheimer’s and Dementia Foundation. Mountain View Funeral Home – Pickens Chapel is serving the Satterfield family.
