Douglas “Doug” Hayhurst Salem, SC Douglas “Doug” Hayhurst, age 66, of Salem SC formerly of New Jersey passed away on Monday, March 14, 2022, at his home. Born December 14, 1955, in Queens, NY he was the son of the late Ray Hayhurst and Patricia (Cassidy) Hayhurst. Doug was a US Navy Veteran and worked as an auto parts machinist for most of his life. Doug was always a kid at heart and had a passion for sci-fi, astronomy, rockets, computers, photography, and gardening. He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Irena Hayhurst, and two children, Michelle Pinkham of Salem, SC, and Alexander Hayhurst of Tampa, Fl, as well as siblings Betty Hayhurst and Lorraine Schaefer, and his close friend from youth Michael Pinkham. Doug had a self-less love for his Wife and children, and he will be missed greatly by his family.
