Gary Carl Seitz

Gary Carl Seitz Six Mile S.C. Gary Carl Seitz, 77 passed away on Tuesday, March 29, 2022, surrounded by his loving family. Born on September 4, 1944, in Williamsville, N.Y., he was the son of the late Carl Seitz and Jeanette Ryan Seitz. He is survived by his wife of 35 years Stephanie Hanel Seitz, as well as his siblings Judy (Robert) Waldmiller and Donna (Chet) Weir of Western N.Y., Charlene (Byron) Fisher of Virginia, and numerous nieces and nephews. Upon graduating high school Gary served our country by enlisting in the US Army during the Vietnam War and was honorably discharged after 4 years of service. Gary attended Genesee College where he received his degree in Engineering. After College Gary spent 40 years working for the defense industry before taking on a position at General Electric where he worked for 10 years until his retirement. During his employment, he received many prestigious awards for his inventions. Gary enjoyed wood carving and his many years of carving wooden duck decoys evolved into his small business called “Seitz Decoys”. He was also a member of the Blue Ridge Arts Center. Gary was a member of St Andrews Roman Catholic Church, Clemson, S.C. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, April 5, 2022 at Saint Andrew Catholic Church in Clemson, South Carolina. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St Andrew Catholic Church, P.O Box 112, Clemson, S.C. 29633, or to Hospice of the Foothills, 390 Keowee School RD, Seneca, S.C. 2967 Mountain View Funerals and Cremations, Seneca Chapel is assisting the Family of Mr. Seitz.
