Gertrude C. Thompson Easley, South Carolina Gertrude C. Thompson, 85, loving wife of 62 years to the late Wade Thompson, passed away on Saturday January 15, 2022, at Baptist Easley Hospital. A native of Pickens County, Gertrude was born on April 20, 1936, to the late Andrew and Missouri Posey Chastain. Gertrude enjoyed cooking, going out to eat, and loved her grandchildren unconditionally. Mrs. Thompson is survived by her 2 daughters; Shelia Thompson of Easley, and Jeana Thompson Pool (Paul) of Simpsonville, her grandchildren; Marisa Kaiser (Lee), Marina Powell (Jonathan), Camden Pool, and Carson Pool, 1 great grandson; Memphis Kaiser, and 1 great grandson to be born in February; Huntley Kaiser, and her 2 sisters; Isabel Duncan, and Adeline Holden. In addition to her spouse, and parents, Mrs. Thompson was predeceased by 2 sisters; Irene Trotter, and Ella Mae Alexander, an infant brother; Charles Chastain, and 4 brothers in law; Melvin Duncan, Paul Trotter, Glen Alexander, and J.B. Holden. A private burial will be held at Hillcrest Memorial Park, and a public Memorial Service will be announced at a later date. Mountain View Funeral Home is serving the Thompson Family.
