Julie Garrett Dacusville, South Carolina Julie Garrett, 63, loving wife of forty-four years to Gene Garrett, passed away from this life on Thursday, January 27, 2022, at St. Francis Downtown. A native of Charleston, West Virginia, Julie was born on July 27, 1958, to the late Reverend John Smith Jr. and Joyce Finger Smith. She was a graduate of Clinton High School in Clinton, Mississippi, and later graduated from Greenville Technical College. She loved reading, taking care of her grandchildren, bird watching, and was a member of Grace Christian Fellowship. Mrs. Garrett fell in love with the faculty, staff, and students of Pickens High School where she worked as a receptionist for the past seventeen years. In addition to her husband Gene of the home, Mrs. Garrett is survived by her children; Matthew Garrett (Ashley) of Dacusville, and Hannah Garrett of Sumter, four grandchildren; Kinsley Garrett, Kaleigh Garrett, Ally Childress, and Bella Evans (Austin), her siblings; Jill Snyder (Mike), Skippy Smith (Beth), and Chris Llyod (William), two nieces; Calla Smith and Joy Ragland, and a nephew; Enoch Snyder. Mrs. Garrett was predeceased by her parents, and two of her daughters; Martha Garrett and Lisa Garrett. The family has requested that everyone in attendance dress in Pickens attire. Flowers will be accepted. Receiving of friends and family will take place on Tuesday, February 1, 2022, 5:00 pm – 6:00 pm at The Mill Church in Pickens with a Celebration of Life Service to follow at 6:00 pm. Mountain View Funeral Home is serving the Garrett Family.
