John Peter Wright Pickens, South Carolina John Peter Wright, age 81, loving husband of thirty years to Sharon Lawson Wright, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, April 16,2023, at his residence. Born April 7, 1942, in Red Creek, New York, John was the son of the late Abraham K. Wright and Amelia Mary Kilburn Wright. Mr. Wright was a pastor for over twenty years and was currently serving as Senior Pastor at Jesus Now More Than Ever Ministry with his wife Sharon as Associate Pastor. John enjoyed music, preaching and teaching. John is survived by his wife, Sharon of the home; his two daughters, Stacey Glerum (Billy) of Bradford, NY, and Amanda Carpenter of Lyons, NY; three sons, Johnny Wright of Fulton, NY, Michael Wright (Mary Osbourn) of Savannah, NY, and Michael Walther of Pickens, SC; as well as three sisters, Bonnie Jarvis of Wolcott, NY, Janice Eaves (Denny) of North Rose, NY, and Mary Quienty of Canada; and one brother Merle "Butch" Wright. In addition to his parents, Mr. Wright was predeceased by two sisters, Gay DeCarr, and Theresa Wilson; and two brothers, Howard Wright, and William Wright. Visitation will be held at 2:00PM until 3:00PM on Sunday, April 30, 2023, officiated by pastor Sharon (John’s wife) at Jesus Now More Than Ever Ministry, 2324 Gentry Memorial Hwy, Pickens, SC 29671, with a memorial service to follow at 3:00PM. John was a husband, dad, grandfather, & great-grandfather. He was also a preacher, who touched many of people's hearts & changed lives. John will forever be missed by his wife, kids, grand kids, family, & friends. John lived a full life with lots of ups & downs. He fought the good fight right up to his last breath. But the good Lords work for John here on earth, had been completed. He is now home with our father in heaven. He Battled stage 4 pancreatic cancer for quite a while. At the same time, he stayed true to the word of God. Never faltering from his mission to keep preaching the cross & Jesus crucified, only to rise up from his tomb. To pay the ransom for our sins. So that we may be saved. All who accept God's gift of eternal life, will one day join John in heaven. John’s wife Sharon had also & still is fighting the good fight. But she needs our help. She is burdened with the cost of the funeral arrangements, a memorial service, unpaid medical bills, cost of living & so on. They always gave more than they had.
