Mary Jo Coleman Hunt

Mary Jo Coleman Hunt Pickens, South Carolina Mary Jo Coleman Hunt, age 92, wife of the late Norwood Ehn Hunt died Monday April 02, 2018 at Cottingham Hospice House in Seneca. Mrs. Hunt was born in Travelers Rest a daughter of the late Dora Pearle McWilliams and George Lewis Coleman, Sr. She was a 1946 graduate of Winthrop College with a degree in Piano Performance and minor in Primary Education. Mrs. Hunt loved all sports but especially football and basketball, she loved her Clemson Tigers and went to all the home football games until she was 89. We were loved by our Jo Jo, she was many things to many different people, she was a school teacher, a partner with her husband as owner and operator of the Western Auto Store in Easley, a social worker, homemaker, Sunday School Teacher, a devoted wife and mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Mrs. Hunt was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, the Artie Gravely Circle, and the Hawley Lynn Sunday School Class. Survivors include two daughters; Patricia Haskett (Ray) of Pickens, Jean Hughes (Russ) of Travelers Rest, one son; Michael N. Hunt (Jacqueline) of Lexington, South Carolina, seven grandchildren; Jennifer Lassausaie of Pickens, Jessi Stevens (Michael) of Easley, Ryan Haskett (Sunny) of Dacusville, Holly Waldchen (Johnathan) of Taylors, John Hughes (Brittany) of Taylors, Edward Hunt (Danielle) of Spartanburg, Coleman Hunt (Kirby) of Gainesville, Georgia, seven great-grandchildren; Ethan Lassausaie, Andrew Lassausaie, Eli Stevens, Owen Stevens, Ellie Hughes, Evie Hughes, Logan Waldchen. Visitation will be 1PM until 2:15 PM Sunday, April 8, 2018 in the Parlor of Grace United Methodist Church with the service to follow at 2:30 PM in the church sanctuary officiated by Reverend Jimmy Dillard and Reverend Dale Harward. Burial will be at Woodlawn Memorial Park. The family would like to express their grateful appreciation to Cottingham Hospice House for the love and care they provided Mary Jo and the family. Memorials may be made to Grace United Methodist Church, 309 East Cedar Rock Street, Pickens, South Carolina 29671. Mrs. Hunt was predeceased by her husband, parents and a brother George Coleman, Jr. The family will be at her home. Mountain View Funeral Home is serving the Hunt family.
