Robert L. Anthony Pickens, South Carolina Robert L. Anthony, age 80, loving husband of 31 years to Cindy E. Anthony, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, August 30, 2025, at the Rainey Hospice House in Anderson, with his loving wife by his side at his departure. Born on June 29, 1945, in Pickens County, South Carolina, Robert was the cherished son of the late Roy Anthony and Evelyn Rampey Anthony. A man of strong faith, he was a devoted member of Northside Baptist Church in Pickens. Robert dedicated 28 years of service to the Pickens County Sheriff’s Office, retiring as a lieutenant, where he built a career marked by loyalty, integrity, and commitment to his community. After his retirement, he treasured time spent with his family, who were the heart of his life—especially his beloved grandchildren, who brought him immense joy. He had a true love for the outdoors and found happiness in the simple pleasures of life, whether he was hunting, fishing, or spending time with his horses. Robert will be remembered for his steadfast faith, his deep love for family, and the countless ways he enriched the lives of those who knew him. Survivors include his wife, Cindy E. Anthony of the home; children, Tommy Anthony (Misty) of Pickens, Rebecca Butler (Reggie) Charleston, SC, and Eric Holcombe (Jessica) of Pickens; grandchildren, Quinten, Landon, Zeph, Zach, Bella, and Jace; three precious great-grandchildren; siblings, Rick Anthony (Peggy) of Pickens, and David Anthony (Nancy) of Greenville; and brother-in-law, Dean Childs. In addition to his parents, Mr. Anthony was predeceased by his twin brother, Rodger Anthony; sisters, Mary Childs and Martha Hendricks; and a brother-in-law, Merle Hendricks. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 3, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM in the chapel of Mountain View Funeral Home in Pickens with a funeral service to follow at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow the service in Hillcrest Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Robert’s honor may be made to Rainey Hospice House, 1835 Rogers Rd, Anderson, SC 29621. Mountain View Funeral Home is serving the Anthony family.
